YUVAL COHEN QUARTET
“Moments of pure listening and enjoyment that continuously flood the soul.” - Jazz Views
“One part jazz, for sure, but Cohen’s classical training is absolutely at play throughout with a wonderful clarity of tone.” - DownBeat
Artist Bio
Led by soprano saxophonist Yuval Cohen, the Yuval Cohen Quartet unites four leading contemporary jazz voices: Tom Oren on piano, Alon Near on bass, and Alon Benjamini on drums. The quartet blends lyrical composition with improvisational freedom, creating music that balances chamber-jazz intimacy with expressive depth. Cohen’s signature soprano sax tone, clear and highly individual, serves as the emotional core of the ensemble. Across their work, the group explores a broad range of influences, from jazz and folk to classical, crafting performances that are both contemplative and compelling.
